Why use Scalamandre and a Crystal Chandelier in the Kitchen?

Ladies, we spend so many hours in our kitchens so there should be basic decor' elements that inspire us.

The right wallpaper, fabric and lighting are not just decoration but they are essential in setting our mood and motivation.
You see our kitchens are not just for cooking.    It's sometimes the place of our morning ritual. Often our place of  prayer and meditation.  It's where we bring a good book and a good friend.

Give me a call.  Let's talk about the atmosphere you need to create in your kitchen.

Blue Panels and Blue Butterflies

These panels make the windows look tall and lean.
Like Audrey, in a very pretty linen dress!

Did you know that you can have almost
any material made into pillows?

Lynn's Lambrequins

Not many home owners are daring enough to commission lambrequines.
Lambrequins are cornices that frame the window on the sides as well as on the top.

The face fabric is a print and the sides are upholstered with a rust chenille.
Notice how the rust chenille is also covering the inside of the lambrequins legs.
You can see it there on the right.
The rust colored fabric is a nice compliment on the gold walls.  It really helps lift and separate the lambrequins from the walls.

We had to measure for a perfect fit.
It needed to touch the chair rail.

Jackie, the interior designer who hired me to build and cover the lambrequins currently resides in Williamsburg, VA and owns a furniture and design store there.

I loved working on this project!

Bridging the Gap Between Drapery Panels and Matchstick Blindes

Sandra had a great idea to bridge the disunity between her reeded roman blinds and her new custom drapery panels.
She had me add some of  the fabric from the panels
as a boarder on the blind installed on the door.

.
I also lined the blinds for privacy.
Great idea Sandra!
I'm sure other homeowners will want to do the same.
I enjoyed working with you.

I Enjoy Working with Interior Designers

I have developed a great relationship with several area designers.  After I measure and calculate how many yards the treatment requires I'm able to give an estimate.

I love sitting at the machine...stitiching and sewing...sewing and stitching....cutting and clipping....
....... measuring and pressing.
Yes it requires lots of patience.
remember to click on each photo to enlarge and see the detail
These Roman Shades were created by interior designer Jill Davis in Old Town Alexandria, VA.
Jill's work is fantastic!  I hope to show more photos in future post.

I love working with interior designers.  I enjoy the challenge of bringing their creativity to life.
