Family meals are priceless

so show your family how special they are
by creating elegance in the kitchen.

The right lighting and fabric can even bring class to a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
This fabric is from Scalamandre'

You can always click on each picture to enlarge and see the details.

"Balloon Shades, What Fun!"

I love using Balloon Shades to bring attention to small spaces and Nooks.

Balloon Shades can sometimes be very intrusive, So be sure your window or room is accomidating.

This is a London Shade on a kitchen door.
A London Shade can sometimes be discribed as a cross between an operable shade and a swag treatment.

A Taylored or Boxed Pleated Balloon Shade is a great way to show off a Floral

Can you see how the pattern repeats?

I Blog and Post Pictures and Images of My Own Work

All of the drapes pictured on this blog are window treatments fabricated at The Drapery Shop.

The one exception are these drapery panels hanging on the Modern Flat Rod.

Some of my favorite pics and images that we have created are those of  Shaped Cornices and Roman Shades.
Here is a window that features both.
I always try to convince my clients to follow the shape of the arched windows.
Or in some instances, to create arches.

I also love the images on toiles.

It creates visual interest when using a toile in a Boxed pleated valance

Using toile for Roman Shades is always Challenging.
I don't want to be responsible for cutting anyones head off!

Add Details to Small Projects to Make an Impact

The Drapery Shop doesn't waist any fabric
or any opportunity to make an impact.
We used the scraps from the douvet cover to create these Custom Shams

Click on the picture below to see that the red bands were cut from the contrasting striped liner.

Details Details....Even on small projects
add the detail.

If there are too many straight lines in a room just bend the rod to add some softness.  Details...Details

Modern Rods

A client in Vienna, VA is looking for modern contemporary drapery rods. Take a look at what I've found.
C rings can be used or we can use sliders on the back of the rods to hold the drapery pins.
Totally mod... If we use the sliders the panels will simply hang at the bottom of the rod.

WoW check out these Finials

Neutrals - Not Boring Just Subtle

Click on this photo to enlarge and see the detail and the pleating.
Add softness to a room by giving your boxed pleated valance a scalloped bottom. The vertical stripes in this mock roman valance keep the picture window from appearing disproportionally wide.
