London Shade Remake

This family wanted to reuse custom window treatments made for their previous home.  We sewed 2 shades together to create this one larger shade.  What do you think of the finished product?

What to do with Your Ready Made Curtains?

How about a do-over!

On occasion I'll run into a client who absolutely loves the print on her ready made curtains or panels.  The one draw back is that it is lacking
style and creativity. 

We used the stripe from the valances in the dining area to create the piping and ties for this

Scallop Topped, Boxed Pleated Tie Tab Valance. 

Wow, I guess we combined several styles to bring this one to life.

If we would have left this valance to be gathered on a rod like the factory intended, you would have not been able to enjoy the little

 Italian pizza guys!

"Balloon Shades, What Fun!"

I love using Balloon Shades to bring attention to small spaces and Nooks.

 Balloon Shades can sometimes be very intrusive, So be sure your window or room is accomidating.

This is a London Shade on a kitchen door.

A London Shade can sometimes be discribed as a cross between an operable shade and a swag treatment.

A Taylored or Boxed Pleated Balloon Shade is a great way to show off a Floral

All of the drapes pictured on this blog are window treatments fabricated at The Drapery Shop.   

The one exception are these drapery panels hanging on the Modern Flat Rod.

Some of my favorite pics and images that we have created are those of  Shaped Cornices and Roman Shades.   

Here is a window that features both.

 I always try to convince my clients to follow the shape of the arched windows. 

Or in some instances, to create arches.

I also love the images on toiles.

  It creates visual interest when using a toile in a Boxed pleated valance

Using toile for Roman Shades is always Challenging.

I don't want to be responsible for cutting anyones head off!
